Project Ecovillage - Eco Farm

The Eco farm use the Kinsey/Albrecht soil maintenance theory and the Delphi Natural Farm approach to Ecological sustainability farming. Utilizing small plot, rotational, Organic/Natural farming techniques to grow an abundance of healthy food while improving the environment through responsible land management.

Solar, Wind, Biodigester, will be the power sources of the Eco Farm. Power used to pump water into storage tank using gravity to pressurize the irrigation system and supply water to the fish ponds and other farm needs.

Light mechanical and hand cultivation techniques decrease the carbon emission of the farm. Small plots decrease the efficiency of heavy farm equipment and increase the need for light tools and hand cultivation. (Which are more practical in the 3rd world)

Delphi Natural Farm (DNF) approach to pest management eliminates the use of Chemical or Organic Pesticides, herbicides, fungicides that farmers use. Allowing natural strips of fallow land between plots provides a health ecological environment for “predator” bugs to live and keep pest problems to a minimum. Balancing the soil according to the Kinsey/Albrecht (KA) theory also reduces the number of pests by boosting a plants natural health and defense from pests.

Drip irrigation uses less water and requires lower pressure levels to water crops.

Fish Farm allows for gray water recycling and conversion to fertilizer as well as another source of food.

Trees are a natural part of any ecological environment and growing fruit and nut trees will help simulate a natural environment while provide more food.

Domestic animals such as chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, sheep, goats, and pigs are easy to manage and add to the fertilizer and biodigester demands for growing and powering the farm.

Crop Rotation, season extenders, insect barriers, no organic or conventional pesticides, herbicides, fungicides. Achieving a health soil through Organic and Natural fertilizers increases the basic health of your crop and allows for more vitamins and minerals to be passed along to the humans that eat veggies grown in a well balanced soil.
